OUR ROV

Rabbi Efraim A. Twerski, Dayan and spiritual leader of Khal Chasidim, traces his lineage to the great luminaries of the Chasidic movement, including the Baal Shem Tov, the 18th-century founder of Chassidus, and is a direct paternal descendant of the revered Rebbe Reb Zusha of Anipoli. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rabbi Twerski is the second son of Rabbi Michel and Rebbetzin Feige Twerski, who are renowned for their intellect, warmth, and unwavering dedication to helping others. Together, they built a community rooted in close and caring relationships, serving as an inspiring model of leadership. Their influence extends far beyond Milwaukee, touching countless lives around the world.

Continuing this tradition, Rabbi Twerski offers his kehilla the guidance, warmth, and fatherly care that have become hallmarks of his leadership. Upholding the values of his Chasidic forebears, he has made Khal Chasidim a welcoming home for those seeking to grow together in Torah and avodas Hashem with simcha and achdus.

Rabbi Twerski learned in the Bobov Yeshiva in Bat Yam, Israel and later at the Yeshiva of Lucerne Switzerland. After marriage he learned in Kollel Mateh Efraim in New York where he was ordained. Rabbi Twerski is also one of the inaugural members of the Chicago Choshen Mishpat Kollel where he received the ordination of Yadin Yadin in 2009.
